DDOT
Overview
The Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) serves the City of Detroit and select neighboring suburbs. The agency originated as the Department of Street Railways (DSR) in 1922. Today the agency operates 37 bus routes, 10 of which offer 24-hour service along major corridors.
SMART and DDOT have a unified payment system, DART, which offers 4 hours of unlimited rides on both systems, in any direction, for $2; 24-hour, 7-day, and 31-day passes are also available for purchase at the Buhl Building, the Royal Oak Transit Center, select retail outlets, online via mail, or digitally via the Token Transit mobile application.
