Senate Bill 682 (2023-24): Mackinac Island Speed Limit

Senate Bill 682 , introduced by Sen. Damoose (R-Harbor Springs) in January 2024, established a speed limit on M-185 around Mackinac Island. The bill aimed to provide for the safety of cyclists and pedestrians on the island as an alternative to restricting the use of e-bikes. It was signed into law in July 2024 with immediate effect.
