E-Sparrow
My e-bike is a Detroit Bikes E-Sparrow, a Class 2 battery-on-frame conversion of the lightweight aluminum Sparrow . Originally released in July 2020, the bike was unique in that it was locally manufactured and could be purchased pre-assembled at a Detroit showroom in Capitol Park. The company was acquired by Cardinal in 2022, which in turn sold the company to Beacon Manufacturing .
I purchased my E-Sparrow in March 2021. The Detroit Bikes showroom has since closed and the bike is no longer in production; stock and components were transferred to Detroit Moped Works and Metropolis Cycles, and all remaining units have now been sold.
