House Bill 4012 (2023-24): Safe Speed Limits

House Bill 4012 , introduced by Rep. Slagh (R-Zeeland) in January 2023, allows speed limits on state highways be set lower than the 85th Percentile Speed should higher speeds pose a public safety hazard. The bill was signed into law in April 2024 with immediate effect.
